A question for anyone who works in Hotel management

I'm not unhappy about it, just curious if there was some method of them allocating rooms, as it's a running joke between us now, that we always get the room at the end of the corridor
Doesn't seem to happen when I book in on my own

I am heading off to a rather nice hotel in Cumbria, later on this very day, with my female companion who is 18 years my junior.

I will be counting the rooms we pass on our way to our allocated one and if it is further than half way along the corrider, I will be informing her ( after she's had half a bottle of gin) that the staff have her down as a lady of the night and then sit back and enjoy the ensuing mayhem.
