a question for ITK's

I was one of the people that had access to information from inside the club but most of it seems to have dried up. However if I remember at the time, there was a lot of mystery over Marwood's role. It seemed he was a director of football without the title and his job was to ensure the various bits of the footballing side of the club worked together. As he also has an Arsenal background and Hughes wants to move more towards their model of youth development then it wouldn't surprise me if Marwood was the driver behind changes in the Academy.

Does anyone really know the truth about JC? He seems to toe the official line and say that he is happy with his new role. Results in the youth team don`t seem too hot though since he has gone. Brian Marwood used to work for Nike a la Garry Cook so that is where the link is.

A supposed ITK posted on here that Cassell was ready for semi retirement and it was under his own instigation that he moved on.

Maybe the truth has been told but folk just don't want to believe it. The under 18's current squad isn't the best and was always going to struglle whether JC was still with them or not.

Chances of Hughes walking are nil.

That's true.

There's no way he'd walk. Firstly managers these days at the top level don't walk out. Why would they when if they get sacked they can be paid off with millions? Secondly, Hughes really doesn't strike me as the type to walk out. Thirdly, why would anyone walk away from one of the best managerial positions available - a patient board and stupendous amounts of money to spend if need be.

ok, i just think there is no need for marwood, should we go for jose etc there is no way they will stand for interference in any way.
something just dont feel right to me.

There's absolutely no chance of Hughes walking away from this job, he's woefully underqualified for a role at a top 4 side and has zero opportunity of getting a job with even half the prospects he's currently got as City manager. If he leaves City without delivering a bear minimum of one Premiership League Title then he'll never manage at this level again, he'll be a Everton/Villa/West Ham level manager at best.

Surely Marwood - a football man, is needed on the board. Otherwise we'll have a board of guys calling all the shots at our football club, none of whom have a clue about football

This. You can't run a football club with not one person having no experience in the game. Of course Marwood is needed. Daft post to suggest he isn't De Niro.
