A s**t away end full of tourists

It was Baltic, think we sold about 2300 out of 5000 available. Reduced allocations were seen at all over the country, the team was poor and the prices ridiculous, I earnt 1000s of points in this era, anyone of a certain age could have easily done the same but places like Wigan and Bolton even saw modest City followings due to cost
Brrr that day.

Our minibus followed a snow plough up the motorway over the tops on the 62, had some nice beer in Thirsk and missed the fucking goal having a piss.

The most obvious factor in knowing these fans are tourists is the fact they all appear in little groups all wearing the same scarf, it’s like they have been given one each as part of the experience, probably when they arrive at their hotel room. Khaldoon, Soriano, whoever is responsible for this continued shambles has let the real City fans down, we are not just the minority in the away ground, we are becoming the minority in our section. There was a time my existence revolved around our fixture list, stupid I know but true, I now feel that apathetic about the whole experience there is a huge part of me thinking stop wasting your time with this over priced under appreciated charade, it’s not how you remember it from the terraces, it will never return it will only go the other way. Stood there yesterday our section felt like we were extras in the Liverpool show, little passion, no noise, no defiance, just rows and rows of star struck tourists, completely soulless

Sometimes the performance on the pitch does affect the support, yesterday we only occasionally got anywhere near the away section in the first half, not even a single corner to get worked up about. A better second half but our attacks were at the far end and tbh I think a lot of Blues were resigned to defeat which also dampened the atmosphere.

If you don’t know Danny Wilson how can you call him that name?
Danny Wilson has always been helpful with fans. I know this personally and also for what he has done for other fans I know. So unless he has done something to upset/hurt you personally there is surely no need for that?
Agreed Danny is a decent lad ,if my money was going anywhere I would have a look at a certain sporting director from Barcelona who is retiring and who's last game it was at klanfield,
Those shirts were worn for a reason and none of them were kids .

I'm not sure it is, we play the rags shortly their away crowd at ours never looks touristy.
As part of their protests and demands over the years, one of the big things they kicked off about was exactly this issue. They demanded it ended. I think the club agreed to their demand.

But they have a proper fans group who have a say at their club, like Liverpool and Newcastle also do.

We do not have one. We have no voice and the club know this.

Don't worry if our recent form continues the tourists will melt away as fast as the recent snowfall we had.

They do care. But not in public. They will have spoken to UEFA in private and left it st that. But as you say, that comes across as the club not caring. Their public PR with the fans is totally fucked up and misguided. An own goal!
Agree that shit show was totally on UEFA and City will have had words.

This is why i would not mind getting relegated. all these tourists and half and half scarfs would soon fuck off
I’m sure you don’t really want us to get relegated but it’s a valid point that the tourists won’t be around if we truly go to shit on the pitch. In fact, they won’t be at Palace on Saturday or Leicester over Christmas and you can bet that the atmosphere in both those away ends will be miles better than it was yesterday.

Toooooo fucking right - packed full of tourist cunts. I was in the back row 36 - and three rows in front, as I knew one day it would, it kicked off. As they went to take their penalty - a load of tourists started filming - which sent a whole load of real blues (me included) into a melt down. They simply didn’t care - they were all in half and half scarves and didn’t speak a word of English - and after ignoring a very angry lady in front of me - she twated the back of the head of one of them who refused to lower his phone. It was all about to go a bit Pete Tong - till wiser heads prevailed.

This is an abomination - and I’m sick of it. And yes - the club don’t give a flying fuck - but time to name and shame those selling onto touts???
i think she was on the row behind me, they were in front of me on row 30 seats 178 - 182 , there may have been more of them i told him to put the camera down too

We can all moan about tickets, season tickets, concessions and get together with other clubs’ fans for a few hundred to protest behind a banner, which is laudable, but ultimately unless we take action like the German fans do then nothing will get done about it. For me, it’s the British disease moaning and accepting something.
We need all clubs fans to join in a mass protest, it’s never going to happen but, if all season ticket holders and away fans stayed away for one round of matches then suddenly the players would be playing in front of half empty stadiums.
I’m sure that the clubs get together and take it in turns to twist the screw on the legacy fans, Spuds removing concessions, get away with it then the others do it
It definitely feels like the clubs are conspiring behind the scenes to come up with ideas to squeeze more money from fans even though they know they’ll be unpopular and will lead to pushback. With City it was the disabled car parking fiasco. As you say, with Spurs - and then West Ham - it’s removing concessions. Now we have United jacking up concessionary prices for members to full price. If they get away with that one, I’m convinced other clubs will follow.

Just a thought but how many fans that are complaing on here will actually contact the club or the MUEN.Its no good staying it's point it's a waste of time as the same could be said for posting on here

Club doesn't give a flying fuck wether fans at the game live in a Manchester postcode or not!!!

As long as the seat is sold is all that matters to them.

The business model is based around tourists and day trippers. None of us local fans would stay over in the hotel facility they are developing. Or spent a shit load on memorabilia in the club shop every home game.
all well and good for home games, but no reason why they should get tickets for away games when demand exceeds supply

The club refuse to tell us what % of tickets are going where for this reason. For years this forum has been on a witch-hunt against so called “points whores” and the 18-25 allocation. Been looking in the wrong place
Exactly. United give a full breakdown of where their away tickets go, while at City it’s clouded in secrecy. They won’t even tell us how many fans are in each points bracket which would be handy to know, if only for the reason that it would give fans an idea if they might qualify for an away ticket and could then make plans off the back of that.

I can see why Blues are frustrated but I disagree with the gist of 18-25 and points holders having a very hard luck story. The majority of Blues have supported the 18-25 allocation even though it means many of us no longer get tickets for the biggest away games. If people are willing to put in enough elbow grease they will get tickets for
Most aways anyway.

I don’t get this victimised points holder facade either. It’s easy for us to feel sorry for ourselves on the back of a poor run but the lads need us to sing up loud and proud. More tickets for points would suit me just fine btw but that wont happen unless there are percentage ticket checks like Utd have (and even then lots of reds take the risk of buying off touts). I don’t mind the checks but I know they are a nightmare for Blues who organise coaches to away games.

What about the people just moaning about the tourists filming the pen and not doing anything to put the penalty taker off. We weren’t just let down by the tourists today. A load of Blues who would sell their Grannies for an Anfield ticket ticket seemed to take part in a sponsored silence. Yes there would have been some Blues trying to get the singing going but far too few of them.
There were pockets of blues trying to get it going. I tried to spark a few chants off myself but it was a fruitless exercise, yet when I go to Leicester in a few weeks it’ll be piss easy to get chants going and they’ll spread across the whole away end. Yesterday was a combination of various factors - the tourists, not enough blues getting songs going or when they did kind of get going not enough joined in to keep them going, too many City fans who are happy to sing on the concourse but then shit the bed when it comes to singing in the stands (not confined to Liverpool away - this has been going on for years all over) and, dare I say it, the Liverpool fans were pretty loud throughout just as they were last season and this drowned out any chants from our end that did get going. They’ve not always been like that though. We bossed the atmosphere at the Mahrez penalty miss game in 2018 but these days their fans turn up at home games against us, just as we tend to do in home games against them.

Last year our home atmosphere against Liverpool was dreadful
