A Short General Knowledge Quiz

To keep us going, I'll give you the answer - Showaddywaddy - Lonely this Christmas.

Time for some more questions, Mad.

That'll do! ( Mud, actually).

1/ In the last 50 years, Formula 1 has been held at four venues in the British Isles; name them.

2/ Elvis Presley only released one song by a European songwriter, during his own lifetime. The song was called 'My Boy', who wrote it?

Only two today - it's Monday.

We had question one in a pub quiz the other day. Fair play if anyone gets them all, we only got three...

Not a clue on the second one.

1/ Silverstone, Brands Hatch & Donnington are correct. The fourth course is more famously used for horse racing.
2/ The songwriter is an Irishman who also wrote hits for the Dubliners, Sandy Shaw (I think) and the Bay City Rollers.

Donnington is wrong... Never held an official Grand Prix, that's where we went wrong on our quiz. Only just seen that it's defined as in the last 50 years too, there's only 3 answers in that case I think. Brooklands held it in the 20s though.

1993 European Grand Prix was held at Donnington.
The last Formula1 race at the horseracing course was in 1964, so it just barely scrapes into the 50 year timeline.

2. Is Bill Martin, although I think he collaborated with Richard Harris on that song.

The only course big enough in profile that wouldn't require serious landscaping is Aintree.
