a small observation..

I went to the driving range here in Dubai yesterday and over the summer they've built two 'Padel Tennis' courts. There's a sign on them saying it's the fastest growing sport in the world, so it might be that. Looks like a hybrid of tennis and squash.

The thing is, that when the numbers of people doing a sport are relatively low, it is easy to throw out statistics like that which mean very little. They are subject to much bigger fluctuations than established sports.

If you have 10 people doing it say, and then another 10 people join within a month, then that's a 100% increase in a single month. You can then inflate that statistic by extrapolating it and say something like "Well our sport is increasing in popularity by 1200% yearly."

In reality it could easily just be 20 nutjobs running around playing some bizarre mix of rifle shooting and badminton.

Can you remember what it was? I wasn't really paying attention but I remember thinking it looked gash, they always do.

It was something shut like squash but I can't remember it either.

Squash is mint, don't diss. Best racket sport there is. Fastest growing too, so I hear.
