A smell and a sound that remind you of Maine Road...

The unique blend of dried dog-shit and human piss in the back alleys.

The lights at night, showing up from quite a way off.

The roar of the crowd, which always seemed loudest if you were late and hurrying to get in.

Smell: Boiled onions from hotdog carts
Sound: Fat guy shouting 'Getcher Pink Fi-nyaaal'

The sounds of children crying, before kick off, and at half time when my mate (shit at football) tried to join in with the kick around with the kids at the back of the Kippax, he always managed to kick it in to dog shit alley.

Every fecking week he did it, the tight git! :P

Grown men crying before kickoff, during and after the match!

Oh, I forgot, that nutter outside with the placard, telling us to repent.

Say one thing for him, he was a loyal attender.

Trouble is he was at The Swamp every week too! They needed to repent much more than us!
