A week to go

I know it sounds fickle, but that friendly loss to Arsenal has dampened my spirits. I was genuinely very confident ahead of the season, thus not too worried about Newcastle, but Arsenal made us look as toothless as we were last season while looking much poorer defensively. Nastasic out, Aguero out, suddenly I'm not as confident as I was.
Exactly the same as you mate, the manner of that loss hurt.

Kinell!,.

Hurt?

It might send a few warning bells ringing about defending, but maybe that's a good thing

We've added a lot of attacking players to our team, but we must not forget about the art of defending particularly away from home.

We defended brilliantly against Bayern (well, Kompany did) and we have exactly the same personnel as in previous years so we're not exactly going to fall apart overnight. It's evident we'll defend well in numbers, but the problem is we're always going to commit so many forward that we're not guaranteed the numbers unless we're being pinned back by a Bayern/Barca type side.

Incredibly excited at this point. Can't wait to get my new shirt and see navas ripping it up on the wing.

Yep,i agree,it was probably exactly the result and wake up call we needed.

That game exposed potential frailties with enough time to rectify them,we'd be foolish to ignore those issues.

Hopefully we can also get rid of a few,you know the names.......

In reply to the person who said that we had not sold out and that we would not be able fill a 60k capacity stadium does he realise that there are only about 600 tickets still available with a week still to go? When you take into account that Newcastle returned over 900 of their allocation it does not take a mathematical genius to work out that had they sold their full allocation then we would already be in a demand exceeding supply situation!! Just the sort of comments that the City knockers thrive on and create all the negativity in the papers and on Radio/TV.

And if we get in a few new players like gelson Fernandez we could fill a 80k stadium !
