Aaron Nemane

France are notoriously shit at getting young players with dual nationality to play for them, whereas England genuinely considered trying to claim Adnan Januzaj, so I'd of thought he'd be in the england team if he ever gets close to good enough. (like they did with Welbeck and Zaha at the first suggestion that they might play for Ghana or Cote D'Ivoire) Still an awfully long way away anyway, nor does it really matter to us who he plays for, if he gets good enough for either country then we will be chuffed.

Really? If anything i'd argue its the opposite! At one point about 2/3rds of their team were of African descent.

Off the top of my head i know all of these have duel nationalities with many born outside of France. Zidane, Desailly, Benzema, Thuram, Ben Arfa, Evra, Makelele, Mandanda, Vieira, Matuidi, Cisse, Mavuba, Govou, Ba, Luyindula....

i'm sure there are many more. I always thought it was a known 'thing' that for a while the French had a team which had mainly African based roots.

I could have sworn he'd already played for the younger England squads but apparently not although he is eligible.

This is his début in the U18s (a 3-2 loss to Fulham) in which he scored both goals after coming on as a sub. He was just 14 at the time:

The French FA were so annoyed that players kept coming through their academies then chosing to play for other nations that Laurent Blanc genuinely suggested a cap on the number of black and arab players that should be allowed in academies. They see it as a huge problem. The World Cup winning side was hailed as the new France, with all the players from different backgrounds, but they've gone backwards since. You only have to look at the AFCON to see just how many french born players are playing for other countries.

Easily some of their best players. I'm not sure if a cap was ever imposed though, because this would limit a great number of talented players.

England have had very few dual nationality players make an impact for us. France have been much more successful in that regard. The problem is there is a culture in France amongst the white French that those of Arabic descent are to blame for all problems. They had issues with the World Cup winning team - before it won - because of the number of players born outside France. They were fine when they won things though, in true French fashion!

He looks a good player Nemane - he is short but stocky and quite oddly shaped for a winger really. He might have a growth spurt but his low centre of gravity makes him hard to read and also means he can slip past defenders who may struggle to block him because of his height. We will see how he develops but he played well in that game. Though you have to question the right back for Liverpool!

Isn't the Arab think part of their issue with Nasri? He is of Algerian descent, I believe.

So was Zidane. I think its cos hes an easy scapegoat tbh

Reminded me of Sterling last night, was impressed with his play bar the finishing.

Doing some research on he was born in France but raised in Manchester but he doesn't seem to have a national team yet, I wonder if England will be tapping him up soon.
