Man City consider England U21 as Kyle Walker’s long-term replacement – report

Manchester City have begun monitoring the performances of Crystal Palace’s impressive young right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Daily Mirror reports.

Wan-Bissaka, 20, has caught the eye with some excellent performances for Roy Hodgson’s side and that has alerted a number of clubs, including Everton and City, despite the league champions having no immediate need of a new right-back.

With Kyle Walker, 28, and Danilo, 27, on the books, City will not be buying a right-back any time soon, but are always thinking ahead and when the need does arrive for a player in that position, Wan-Bissaka will come under consideration.

According to the Mirror, City have made a ‘number of discreet enquiries’ to Palace about Wan-Bissaka and may be laying down the foundations for a future bid if the young talent is still at Selhurst Park when the Blues next decide to invest in a right-back.

Does he have the potential to outclass Walker? and non-playing Danilo?
Or does we have bigger prospects in the acadamy?

Every year an outstanding prospect pops up out of nowhere, mainly because young players all develop at different times, this could be one but with Danilo and Walker in place it is not a position we need and with the prospect of Bolton eventually making a claim we might not in the future? for some reason we do not have good relations with Palace, so is it worth paying over the odds for a prospect that we will probably have to leave on loan for at least a year? For me that is a yeah i like what i see and come the summer we will have a lot clearer picture

Very good player but there is no rush for this position. We would have to spend at least 20m to get him and he wouldn't be playing regular. We also have kids of our own that should be loaned and allowed to prove themselves in the hope they will be ready in a couple of seasons time to naturally step up.

What is this, 2011? Top prospect from a PL club is going to be 40+

The article itself says it's just a player we've got an eye on for the future if he develops, it's not really saying much other than they like him.

Yep,youre right.Its all a bit pointless.

Better to sell Danilo (if we keep Delph) then Bissaka can be a player that get some minutes and develop, and he can fight with one from the acadamy, too be the backup and future replacement of Walker.

Don't see it at all, or believe the link is genuine. We wouldn't sell Maffeo just to replace him with someone elses prospect at huge expense, especially considering Maffeo would have counted as club trained when this guy would only be nation trained(we already have Walker, Stones, Sterling and Delph so a 5th nation trained is pointless). Seems like the classic "player is off to a good start, link them with City" thing tbh

4 of my mates been on turf today & said he was outstanding, wish he was a left back not a right back!! ;)

Pretty sure the rags will be bidding, with Valencia going and all. May force us to choose now rather than in a year or two.

Unless they have fresh memories of pinching another young full back from a top half rival, in Luke Shaw. They'd have him on De Gea's donut diet and looking like Lukaku in a matter of weeks.

We don't need a right back though so unless someone is leaving think this is probably a non starter

Possibly Danilo? If we rate him highly we might be forced to enter the bidding this summer if it looks like he will join somebody else.

How often does top-class young + home-grown FB's become available?

He's an incredible prospect but can't see us recruiting this summer in any position where we are already covered

Bad timing for this lad, right back will be well down our list of priorities in the summer with the issues at left back and in midfield.

He`s an exceptional talent, but we have Walker and Danilo already. Jeremie Frimpong in the EDS has also looked outstanding this season when I`ve watched him. Good both offensively and defensively. Don`t think TAA or AWB was any better than Frimpong when they broke through, and they`re now considered as one of the biggest young talents in the PL. Hope we give him a chance or two in the cups next year

I have only seen a little of Frimpong is he ready for a squad place? as Walker will be 30 in 14 months and probably due to his style of play past his best, and Danilo whilst being the better player is not mobile enough, personally i would buy AWB i think he looks special but does Pep?, AWB and Frimpong in a couple of years now that looks very good to me
