If stones, ake and akanji leave within the next 2-3 years then it’s the right choice. Look at Chelsea. We are falling behind. Can easily loan him out again for another year same with Bah.

Why should we look at Chelsea exactly? 4pts above us despite spending a fortune and our form being the worst it has been in years. Don't think that's the example we should follow. The dippers moved out the old and brought in the new, took a year or so to adapt and are now looking like potential title winners and have been very strong in the CL too.

We've got some excellent players and we've got some who need moving on. We need to do what we've always done and mix youth and experience to ensure younger players have time to improve but aren't expected to perform week in week out. Look at Gvardiol. A beast of a player but suffering from a lack of confidence.

The issues we have are relying on older heads for too long, but we need to bring in top quality players who have proven they can improve us and blend that with some younger options we're confident will rise to the levels needed.

I can’t see us getting rid of both Ake and Stones the same summer. But Lewis playing midfield would certainly mean all these players can get minutes.

Ake will stay imo for at least one more year but in a squad role? Stones I reckon is toast though as we just can’t rely on him? Plus he’s rumoured to be on £250,000 a week but only plays half a season? Time to be ruthless

Not really. I quickly checked his stats and highlights, and based on what I saw, he would perform really well. Plus, he has pace—something we desperately need in a defender. He wins duels and tackles consistently, which are invaluable traits. I know Pep isn’t particularly fond of tackling as a strategy, but sometimes we’re too docile. A well-timed tackle can effectively neutralize danger and help us win the ball back quickly.

Everton would take him back imo, and the likes of West Ham, Wolves, Fulham would defo be keen as well.
