They want a stand where all the fans can sing and chant and basically do whatever the hell they want. Most people are complaining that the away fans seperate the two 'singing stands'.

Currently the away fans are situated in Aisles (?) and seperate the loudest part of the stadium. The plans for a redevelopement have come about to counter this problem. This will cost us alot of money (which I know we have), but also may present problems for people wanting to go to the games: some places in the ground may be closed off for building work etc.

But surely the simple thing to do, would be to switch the 'singing section' of the South Stand, to other side of the South Stand, right next to Aisle's 107-111?

It would cost less money, and it seems as easy as hell to me. It seems like the easier option too, and plus... our stadium is fantastic, although any redevelopments are welcomed by me as it's very exciting, but for different pruposes other than bringing the fans together, when all we really need to do - is the above.

dont think we should increase capacity because it would be embarrassing when we never fill it

This. All this about having a 60'000 all-seater, when we don't fill 48'000.

We would given sensible pricing.

Our average attendance is over 94% of capacity now anyway.

Plus we have won nothing in over 30 years.

Grow up. A fact is something that can be proven.

What you are stating is an opinion.

By the way, your grammar is appalling.

I think it's fair to say a few of our fans have a inferiority complex about not being the biggest club in England.

48k is perfectly fine. Waiting lists determine expansion and we haven't had a waiting list since we moved in.

Sold out 9 times this season, chances are we will sell out at least 4 more times before the end of the season thats more than 1/2 the home games, our Avg right now is like 45,500 so we are doing pretty well if we can never fill it.

EXACTLY.

With the trophies that WILL come over the next few years, we will require a larger capacity. Or perhaps some people would rather we wait and then start building LATER...aren't they the ones who scream 'Lock that stable door!' after the horse has bolted? ;o)

Seriously, it's called 'forward planning' - our guys know how to achieve success and they WILL achieve success - a larger stadium capacity is a pre-requisite in readiness for what we all hope will be many, many years of sustained success!

CTID.

Okay, I'll rephrase. We don't always fill 48,000. But I dont see the need for an expansion. The best team doesn't always have to play in the biggest stadium.

Aren't you worried we will end up going down the Chelsea route they didn't expand and as a result to keep their income up they had to price their old fanbase out?

In the future, when we are winning things then I'm all for a 'redevelopment', don't get me wrong. But right now, we're going to look silly. Having less than 55,000 turn up in a 60,000 stadium.

Plus, the traffic will be fucking murder! ;)

Well the other issue is how long do you think, a, it will take to build and b, do you think we will lose capacity while we do it?

Also the 'sold out' signs that have gone up this season are literally the day before a game, not like 2 weeks beforehand like it could do in the days of 32k M.Rd.

I'm 100% sure any expansion should take before 2018 WC bid. But we should not carry it out until 2016. Between now and then let's see if we can get a waiting list of 10k.

I said that parts of the ground will need to be sectioned off to allow building work to take place.. so yes we will lose capacity.

Your first point... about half a season.
