Am starting a Cruise in January from Abu Dhabi .in there wisdom the company have stuck me in a "Dry Hotel" the Jannah Al Sarab . As i will be there for the Liverpool game on Jan 3rd all help advice appreciated on nearest place to the hotel for a beer and best place to watch the game ,Cheers in advance

There's a sports bar at the yas viceroy hotel marina, can't remember the name but it definitely isn't dry and will probably show the game.

Hi mate. I was in Abu Dhabi for the Fulham cup game. I was staying at the Hilton which is at the other end of Corniche Road from where you but it has a Sports bar called Hemmingways in it, which had loads of screens. Expect to pay £9 a pint. There is an Abu Dhabi OSC which may be nearer and might be worth looking into. Closer to you and called the Sunshine Bar or something.

Also stayed at the Hilton just a couple of months ago, and Hemmingways was only showing live sport on 1 screen when I was there. The others seemed to be showing a staggered loop of Barcelona, Real Madrid and the UAE national team!!

abu has a bar in town popular with city fans when they play, but all hotels have the Bein sports channel so you can watch games in your room or at the hotel bar that always show PL.

Abu is good as it is city, go to dubai and they cant quite get their heads round the fact that city are owned by Abu so they should back this up by playing city's games not the rags. But if you are in the dubai hotels and rags / city play at the same time they always show rags game. There are a lot of southerners in dubai, seems popular with holiday makers, so even though we have the joke about cockney yarnited they all sit in the bar and watch their game.

Had a right go at the hotel in sept for showing rags over city, reply from them was "well the rags fans have been sat here 2 hours waiting for the game"... Just chuckled and said leave them to it they don't get to games so often.
