Was some sort of rule about that brought in for the euros that refs had the power to stop the match if they heard anything. Fair play for doing it and the crowd seemed to be getting on the back of the perpetrators which is good. You would think some 4th teer Greek team would savor somebody like Milan coming to play them and appreciate the game instead of this shit. Why is it just racism that shouldn't be tolerated? Why should tens of thousands of people be allowed to sing about some blokes wife taking it up the arse, or making pretty fucking obscene comments about Wenger, or antisemitic chants etc, etc. Lots and lots of nasty chants at football games therefore why not just walk off every time a player feels offended.MC ID said:malg said:OK then, how about a walk off because of:

For some reason everyone gets up in arms about fans shouting racist chants, when the worst offenders are on the pitch. I have never heard (not in the last 10 years that is) a fan call a black player a 'black cûnt', or a 'choc ice' - unlike two of England biggest football stars. Maybe they should get their own house in fucking order first, then tackle the fans.

Pretty big difference between shouting about somebody's wife taking it up the arse and racist chants. First thing is his wife "may" take it up the arse, and second enjoy it!
Racists chants and direct racial abuse cannot be tolerated is any shape or form. The chants are no just abusing the target player, but also insulting a race. The stupid thing is most of these morons wouldn't do it face to face, and probably have black friends and work colleagues who they get on well with.
Most abusive chants about somebody's sexuality or religion are pure speculation or obviously (most of the time) just meant to annoy the opposition. It's still wrong, and does need looking at as well. But a gay or Jewish man can walk down a street and nobody would know. A black man doesn't have that choice.
I don't think it always "true" racism though. Beer and needing to fit in is probably why 99% do it. One idiot starts it, and his pissed up mates join in to try and look hard core etc.
Simple solution at least dealing with it here is CCTV. Record each section of the crowd. Any report of abuse towards a player results in the footage being analysed. The offender(s)can be found and recorded with face recognition software/lip readers. Instant ban and evidence passed on to police. It would help if people started reporting offenders to the Police/stewards as and when it is happening. End result is the players don't feel the need to walk off as it is being dealt with properly.
I got some abuse for not singing the Munich chants/songs. I stood out because I was bellowing out all the other songs, and went quiet when those came up. I just don't get the chants/songs. I was always brought up to respect the Munich dead, even though all my family are die hard blues. After that, I took to booing when ever they were sang. I still get some abuse, but noticed more and more now joining in the booing. (109 if anybody was curious)

Don't know seeing as this is a first ! Will uafa see it as a rasict thing or a team walking off and not completing the game ??? while I agree with most of your post, the hissing of spurs because of their Jewish following at a time (much like City) is as deplorable as abusing someone because of their ethnic origin or singing about people losing their life in a plane crash.
Good on them, probably will end up with a fine bigger than the club of the racist fans though, UEFA/FIFA or whoever need to step up to the plate, too much talking about eradicating racism and not enough action, the inept bellends.

I don't know how it is in PL or England overall but abandoned matches over here are usually ruled as 0:3 against the club who's fans caused the problem.
