Not sure how i feel about that comment. Reffering to us as the "Etihad Stadium outfit" in the opening sentence of the story on us opening talks with S.A. in London.
Maybe i am in a touchy mood?

Some of their more clueless and less articulate pundits have called us much worse!

implies we're a bunch of crooks

bet they'd never call united "the Old Trafford mob"?

On a serious note, i deffo think its a vailed put down though.

That said i'm 40 years a blue and i've got skin like a Rhino so who gives a poop. I love all this stuff now, Beckham telling us what were not, Fergi reffering to us as " noisey" etc etc. Just means were on the radar now, and closing fast, and dont they just know it!!

Got to be a wind up thread. Loads of clubs are referred to as an outfit.

Leeds are the Elland Road outfit.
Stoke are the Potteries based outfit
and so on.....

It's just another way to describe a club. Sometimes it doesn't fit, and ours is one of those cases. I think it fits to describe an area or if the stadium is named after a road etc. 'The Maine Road outfit' works ok, but 'The Etihad Stadium' outfit doesn't.
