Ever been over for them Leighton?? As I write this I am looking out a window over the racecourse!! I work right beside the track and live just outside the city.
It's a cracking week and would highly recommend, it can be pretty hard to get accomodation for that week though, if you were coming over you would nearly want to get something booked now...

Never been but my Uncle and Aunty always go down for the Galway races every year without fail for the best part of 20 years or more. They stay in the same B&B all the time. I know accomodation is hard to get I normally try and go to the races once a year or more if I can normally Leopardstown around Xmas and The Curragh in the summer because it isnt to far away from were I live in Dublin and its easy to get back to the City from them.

I've been to Galway races a few times. For me, it's a bit more like Aintree than Cheltenham, in that the celebration of life comes before the celebration of racing. That said, I've had some memorable nights in Quays Bar and the surrounding area and, away from racing, it's one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland I've been to.

In my experience i've always been told them games will be void. But good luck if it is discretionary. Let us know what happens and which bookies it is.

Worked for ladbrokes many years ago by the rule book it would be void regardless of no goals scored,however genrally if its a genuine mistake of few mins late or what a previous poster said if you are local to the shop they would let it fly,all depends if the manager is a bit sound they carry a lot of discretion!
