Doesn't look like he will go, surely he would have played a part today if he was going to pick him. Makes you wonder why he bothered picking him in the 30. He supposedly trained really well, did well in his brief chance against Mexico and then didn't get a chance today. Presumably he couldn't have done much more which means if he doesn't go that Capello never had any plans to pick him in the 23.

For me it works like this. These last two games were for players that Capello wasn't too sure about, surely if Capello wasn't sure about Johnson, he'd have played more than 6 minutes? It seems completely illogical to have him in the squad and not play him if you're unsure of his quality.
Obviously you have those that are guaranteed to go, in the team. But you need to see how those "unsures" will complement what is already there.
