Adam Wharton

We should have gone for him last Jan I reckon. He's going to be another 100 million player moving in the Summer. Or Palace might win the fucking League way they are going lol .
 
Wharton would not have been the difference between us winning or not in Monaco.

We need to find players who would make tgat difference first imo.

Someone to threaten goal better than Bernardo, Reijnders, Foden, Doku, Savinho, etc. We have plenty of attacking options but only Haaland is a sure thing.

Contrast this to when we had Aguero, Tevez, Dzecko, Yaya, Silva and others.

IMO...
1. More goals first.
2. Faster and more assured defenders next.
3. Steady dependable midfield last.

If that means Wharton goes elsewhere then it's just a pity that we didn't plan better over the past few years. But better than ignoring our glaring weaknesses up front and at CB.
 
While Wharton isn't a totally shit player he isn't a £100m by any stretch and is not any better than our current midfielders despite their deficiencies. Doesn't bother me if he goes elsewhere.

I think your making the wrong comparisons. Wharton isn’t a goal scoring attacking player

Aye, we lost 5-3 to Monaco when we had all those.
 
If we get to May and think we need him then fine but hoping we decide we don’t need to and Rodri, Gonzalez, Reijnders plus O’Reilly and Nypan getting time in midfield is enough for the 6/8 and Foden /Cherki at 10. Think that would be the clubs hope too.
 
Good player but if we are looking at players like Adam Wharton at £80 million plus then we have really fallen from top table players .We are looking to compete at the very top and we need elite players for that
 
Good player and I wouldn’t be against signing him but is it justifiable ahead of an elite right back and winger to add goals?

Other than a few signings such as Haaland we rarely ever sign ready made ‘elite’ players though. Based on that I presume you think we shouldn’t have signed nico, cherki or previous players like stones, Akanji or even Gareth Barry… a lot of those prospects ended up being some of our best players

Wharton is a top prospect and if reports are to be believed most of the elite teams in Europe are looking to sign him.

Gareth Barry was a good one as we where starting to build a team and John stones on his day is one of the best ball defenders in the world as for Nico g and cherki we should have gone for zubimendi but cherki is a maverick and every team needs him . Think Wharton will end up at Liverpool as mcallistet will be off in the summer .
 
21 year old, out performing most team midfield he plays against and home grown.

We should definitely be in for him.
 
It would be easier for his kin from Oswaldtwistle to attend games, as it seems they often do, if they could drive there in 35 mins.
