Added time

Added time makes no sense really. If a team is winning 8-0 having scored all 6 of them in the second half i guarantee they don't add any more than 1-2 minutes on.
However if the score is 1-2, or 1-1 and the game is finely poised, or if the game is at the emirates or anfield, you can bet your bottom dollar they'll somehow find 7+ minutes to add. Its all very fucked.
No, doesn't happen. I had a bet where I think I needed another goal that city was cruising in, ref added 2 mins or something mental off the back of about 3/4 second half goals and other stoppages. It is another element they can corrupt.

We were time wasting yesterday and that was clearly part of the tactic. You can’t then complain that you get the time added on. What you can complain about it all the times teams did it against us and they gave us fuck all.

It’s not a conspiracy this, incidentally. It’s a well-researched phenomenon that if the home team is a goal down, the amount of injury time is greater on average. There is also research that shows that ‘big teams’ are more likely to get extra time added on that smaller and mid-table sides in this situation.

Time should be kept OFF THE FIELD and visible to every fan on the big screen. This subjective “I’ve got a secret” from the ref is complete bollocks in 2025.

If the ref stops the game…Free kick, corner kick, injury, yellow card (which usually comes after the foul), etc…the clock should be stopped…and we should go to 40 minute halves with a 20 minute half time.

Throw ins and keeper possession should be a 5 sec rule. Throw ins should also be taken from where the ball goes out (heresy!!!) as it’s getting ridiculous at times!

Not only would we get more actual “in game” football, but we’d have time for a pint, a pie and a slash AND Pep wouldn’t get us fined for coming out late after every half time!!

Or, maybe he still would?! ;-)
time it takes city to take throw in we'll never finish game thats before 2 that never made pitch ( we must practise as did same against napali )

Exactly, it needs looking into and treated accordingly. You cannot just have refs guessing each week.

I don't think anyone is disputing our 7 minutes, but I can't remember a derby where the scores are close, which has resulted in only 3 minutes of injury time

1 goal
5 bookings (1 being a manager)
3 lots of subs

The goal alone is a minute!

And that's before you even start looking at fouls, ball out of play, bits of time wasting

Added time is just another way of manipulating the game and another reason why we know refs are bent, in every other sport the technology is available to stop and start the clock at will , it isnt difficult and yet the pl refuse to use it and leave it up to the refs discretion to allow them to manipulate the game, same with this semi automated var system, the technology is there to show the real time image instead of this pathetic cartoon but once again they refuse to use it.

Its laughable that the richest league in the world refuses to use the best technology in order to make the game fairer and the only reason they choose not to is because it allows officials to manipulate the games more easily.

5 secs is quicker than we ever throw it in, and it’s clear that we never practice any set ups!

There was never 7 minutes yesterday. Never in a million years. That lifted their fans (who were walking out at that point) and possibly had an impact on them pushing on for their goal. It is a myth that a yellow adds 30 seconds too. It doesn't. Zero goals, minimal stoppages so the only time you take into account is the subs, and that was not 7 minutes. Laughable but not surprising.

I was expecting 6 mins, there were a lot of subs and a couple of stoppages. 7 wasn't unreasonable. Our game wasn't the issue, the Liverpool one which had 3 minutes was.

I put this in the post match thread. What they should have done is the percentage figure of time the ball spent in play. Fulham v Brentford was six minutes longer than the Burnley game yet have five minutes of ball in play! Our game had the ball in play for about 55% of the time, dippers slightly more, Sunderland nearer 50%

Pretty much yeah.

How long did it wake to get the game restarted after the goal?

How long did the sub take?

Doesn't seem far out.
Just checked the full match on CityTV+ and for some reason the cut out the kick off after goal so it skips
I would argue that they dont add on the full celebration time for goals on every occasion subs are 30 seconds
