Ade & Toure

Can't see how it'll be a blessing in disguise. We'd have beaten the rags at OT quite comfortably if we had Ade playing, imo.

yes but if we have no big target man to hoof it to we will have to play to feet. menaing when ade returns his forehead can look forward to a lot less balls over the top

Well miss him in every way. His ariel threat, his defensive headers, his movement, the way he hold is up and even, judging by Saturday, the way he hassles the opposition out of posession.

He's the first name on the team sheet for me

it's very possible they miss end of December matches as well. Read that teams in the Cup of Nations can take out players from clubs up to 2 weeks before the first game. This is awful news.

are u being sarcastic ?

I think we'll be fine tbh, Onuoha and Kompany can come in for Toure and Adebayor has gone missing in quite a few games already this season so far and we've coped.

Even when Ade was banned we still hoofed the ball from back to front

No

For what it's worth, I'm inclined to agree with Didsbury Dave.
I don't know about Adebayor being the first name on the teamsheet but he'd definitely be the first forward that I'd pick.
There's a lot of criticism being aimed at him from people who should (and, the cynic in me thinks, do) know better. For example, the criticism that came his way, on ESPN, early on Saturday was very unfair.
The fact is Ade's height gives us an option that, with quick, tricky, terrier-like players like Ireland, SWP, Tevez, Robinho and Bellamy (take your pick) available to play off of a target man, we have to pick either him, RSC or Caceido. And I know who is the best of that three - Adebayor.

He's a tremendous player. All forwards depend to a degree on service and posession.

What he did really well on Saturday was work his bollocks off to win posession back. Him, SWP and TEvez getting stuck in every time they were on the ball was the platform for our win.

As I said, along with Given, first name on the teamsheet for me.
