Adebayor would be first choice, I think its more of, where does Roque fit in now, obviously depends on how fit he can be throughout the season.

These fucking loyalty bonus clauses are a nightmare. Which utter utter utter utter utter utter UTTER C*NT invented these things and did they not realise that it would be a legal minefield trying to prove in a court of law which party (the club or the player) broke that clause triggering payment.

Some of the papers today are suggeting that we will go for Forlan or Trezguet if this one falls through, either one of those transfers would make baby Jesus cry.

All the papers seem to have conflicting stories, all I'm going to say is imo if this isn't concluded today then something is wrong, city have made alot of progress with Arsenal, permits and entertaining the player. It's at an advanced stage so must be close so either Adebayor is going to join or he has arsehole advisors.

Im sure posted elsewhere but here goes His agent was speaking on Talkshite last evening and here is what he said

Adebayor was away last weekend in Togo and when he returned he found out he had been sold. All has now been agreed personal terms and the fee but it is a big move and Ade asked City for some time to think about it there are no other clubs in and City have been very patient. He did said that he expect it to be concluded over the weekend. City want to concluded the deal to get Ade to SA on Wednesday but really it was unrealistic in the timeframe

IMO the papers don't know what is happening and so they are just making things up or reporting on what others are saying

Out of all the signings made this summer so far this one does not get me off my seat in anticipation. I think it will happen and if it does and provided he has the commitment, I can see him being a good signing. In many respects if the lad has been sold by Arsenal behind his back as the papers suggest I do feel a little sympathetic towards him and I can understand why he needs a little time. If he chooses not to come won't be too fussed about it.

SSN just said that he has returned to Arsenal for Pre-Season training. If his agent did in fact say that Arsenal had sold him whilst he was on Holiday I'm now more confused than ever.

Give him a reasonable deadline - 6-00pm tomorrow - he is not wanted at Arsenal, he has no other offer, his former teamates can't wait to see the back of him - he a good player but you do wonder why we want his when he comes with such a glowing endorsement from Arsenal (NOT).

In some ways I'd sooner we said forget it because he'll probably sign on the basis its a good salary and he has no other offer but by Nov he'll be putting out come and get me signals to Barca and Milan. The behaviour he displayed at Arsenal he will display again - we can be sure of that.

Reading this back - sod the deadline tell him to do one - we don't need him and his attitude.
