Adebayor, well done

Adebayor took his goal well today and it will hopefully boost his confidence cos before he went to the African Cup of Nations he was woefully out of form.

I am a bit puzzled as to why he spent a lot of time out on the wing rather than adapting the natural centre forward position. Was it on Mancini's instructions or did he play out wide by choice?

Fantastic finish but needs to get into the box a lot more and stop drifting out wide, he plays the 1-2 to tevez then overlaps and runs past him down the wing. He needs to be busting a gut to get into the box and get on the end of some decent crosses from Zaba and Garrido.

Great finish and worked hard. Still looks a little rusty, but I bet he was relieved to get 90 mins under his belt. Hopefully he'll get back among the goals on a regular basis. On his day there's nobody better.

Does this call for a new song for the new Ade? The current one where we accuse him of sleeping with the wife of the scouse one isn't exactly motivating. We should come up with something in the vein of 'feed the goat' where he can get a high when he hears it.

I listened to the Radio 5 Live commentary whilst watching the game and they absolutely savaged him. No recognition at all of the trauma he's been through. Very little praise for the way he took his goal, which was entirely due to poor defense. All they could do was compare his workrate with that of Tevez (who would come out of that comparison well?).

I can think of a number of players who, if they had been through what he has, would have been recommended for a knighthood by the media simply for setting foot on the pitch this week. He seems to have received remarkably little sympathy from the press over his ordeal.
