The greatest trainers of all time. You could run up a vertical wet glass window in them such was the grip and your mum wouldn't go mad if you came home with them half hanging off your feet!

Just a shame that past age 7 you'd be mercilessly picked on for wearing them

Sad to say but yes :(

The amount of scum walking about giving us shit on our streets whilst having this look of trackies and rock ports.

Guarantee anyone who's usually barred from most of the bars/clubs in town either wear rock ports (still)
Or Adidas gazelle/sambas.

I wear athletic trainers for the gym (new balance)
Supports the economy as they are made in Cumbria, and if I'm out and about I wear desert boots.
 
I had a pair in the early 80's red/orange sole, stone colour with blue stripes. Never saw another person wear them and have forgotten the name, even checking websites for vintage adidas or 80's adidas cannot find them, they must have made one pair and I bought them
 
Had a pair of Forest Hills in the early 80s, all white with three gold stripes. Wore them for school with black farah pants. Ivan Lendl and Samba later on.
