Adverts that drive you mad

Any advert that takes a song and changes the lyrics to suit the advert.

Obvious example is “Gold” being used to advertise “Bold”

Other examples escape me but it annoys me.

That's a fair point. If I remember correctly, it was some time following the end of the campaign. As I understand it, researchers played a number of ads (which were popular at the time they were screened) following which participants were asked a series of questions to test their powers of recall.

Presumably the company's own research during the time the ads were running told them they were doing what was required otherwise they wouldn't have continued to run different variations of basically the same ad (and the actors' fees presumably increased over time too).
 


This one we have in New Zealand for v energy drink. The lack of any contrition from those in the car after committing murder is shocking
 
Any of these happy clappy bank adverts, telling us were all in together or the like. We'll see how we're 'all in it together' when I forget to pay my mortgage. The only time we were all in it together was when then took far too many risks and the government had to bail them all out using our money !

All in it together - if you can find a branch that hasn't closed or drastically reduced its opening times. It's now a 14 mile round trip to my nearest bank branch that has cut its opening hours in half. Mrs laser has to use another bank, also a 14 mile round trip away, to bank money for a charity she volunteers for and hates going there. Customers are greeted by two or three women who ask if they can help but they never can. So she joins the long and slow moving queue for the solitary window in use. Why don't these meeters and greeters get behind another window or two, and keep the queue moving and actually provide customer service?

A friend of mine popped into his bank as he was passing recently to pay in a cheque and was told "You know you can pay cheques in at the post office don't you?" These people seem determined to make their jobs redundant.

Also car ads when the car in question is zipping through a beautiful looking city or country road without any traffic.

LA, Paris or New York at sunset, never any other cards on the road....

I haven't had to use a bank branch in years and years. What do people physically go into banks for these days?

I ended up going into online banking a while ago because all the local banks closed down. Mrs laser does too for her own account but has no option when paying money in because she has to deposit amounts of cash received by the charity or withdraw any cash for charity use. The bank won't issue the charity with a cash card so she has to go in person and cheques have to be signed by two trustees.

Other people have other banking matters that require them to visit a bank in person including old people who don't have the internet or a smart phone.
