Advice wanted with iPad problem

I've got a pretty new iPad 3 here but suddenly whilst playing poker, the sound just stopped.

Checked I hadn't accidentally muted it but that's about the extent of my technical know how.

Went on music and you tube to see what's happening there and nothing will even play. Not even playing without sound.

Anyone any ideas please or is it just fucked?

Thanks. I can't be arsed fucking about now but will give a couple of those suggestions a go in the morning and see if I get anywhere.
