AFC Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Fuck me. What a way to give up the fight. Fight to the end? Nah. Go out with a tepid, non-existent whimper.

Domestic double and a fresh change coming in the Summer might do us good.

That tonight was another in a long line of poor performances where we look void of genuine ideas of goal threat all while being wide open at the back. Absolutely bereft of any fight. I don’t want to hear anything about us being fortunate to get this far and get it to the penultimate game of the season - so? We did and should’ve done better with certain games across the whole season.

Personally, I love the guy but equally I think it’s the right time for Pep to leave - the fight in the side doesn’t seem to be there and nor does the genuine tactical nous to open up defences. Fresh ideas needed all round to breathe life and reinvigoration into the players.

I’d say Arsenal are deserved champions but Christ they’re a painful watch and if they’re a sign of being the best side in the country then I don’t want to see direction of how football is going.

Onto Sunday. Onto next season.

A lot of changes needed in the Summer IMO - big changes and it’s a huge Summer for Viana.

Certain players need moving on. Aren’t good enough and not sure they ever will be.

And this is why Guardiola drives you fucking mental
He found a winning system and tonight throws it out of the window by starting with Rodri, Bernardo and Kovacic
Then, so fucking insanely, he leaves an unfit Rodri on who's blowing like fuck
And when Pep leaves, I hope he takes his lovechild, Savinho, with him
What a waste of fucking time and effort he is
Absolutely no positives from tonight's game

Pep is an impossible act to follow, but I won’t miss his tinkering with the lineups at the worst possible times. Kovacic is a really good player with a great career, but there was no reason to start him today after he’s played so little football this season. That said, I’d have kept him on over Rodri, who stunk it up to the highest order. He wasn’t alone, though; the body language and effort were poor from the start. How much of that is due to the number of matches in so few days compared to Bournemouth, I don’t know.

Oh, well. We don’t deserve to win the league this season anyway, so it’s easier to stomach, and a double is something no one should ever scoff at.

Utter garbage all night

Fucking stupid team selection from Pep in a must win game. No idea what he was thinking there. One last brain fart for the road, I suppose.

Well done Arsenal. Held your nerve far better than we did over the last couple of weeks for supposed bottle jobs. Well deserved over the course of the season. Congrats.

We're still half a dozen real quality signings away from a squad that can get over the line. Been utterly tonked at the top level in the champions league and second best to an Arsenal team who aren't great.

FA Cup and Coca Cola Cup trophies are papering over a lot of cracks.

I think a change of manager might be good. Not that I'd want rid of Pep but if the club are hellbent on signing players like Sememyo and Marmoush who simply do not have the footballing ability to play Pep's way, then we need a manager with a different approach and maybe less focus on intricacies.

Well done to the fans who travelled there tonight. Deserved better. Apart from that prick who had the bottle a few weeks ago. Made a right knob of himself now we are the ones who bottled it.
