Not seen it posted elsewhere. Three matches away from the football league, fair play to them the fans deserve it after everything that went on.

Just found out the final is at the City of Manchester Stadium also.

Yes, good luck to them, proper fans with a proper reason for forming their own club........

i'm not sure who to go for in the conference play offs. i'd like to see afc wimbledon in the league but luton are there too & they got seriously shafted by a 30 points deduction from the football league which caused their relegation.

After 1983, the further Luton sink the better as far as I'm concerned.

you just knew someone would bring up the grudge against luton even though the real villain that day was john benson who sent city out to play for a draw instead of a win.

don't forget that in their previous incarnation wimbledon weren't the cuddly wombles of children's folklore. they were a bunch of dirty, cheating route one bastards. john 'elbows' fashanu, vinnie jones, john hartson & dennis wise are just four that spring to mind immediately.

Good post. I'm torn on this one! Can still see Pleat an his brown shoe dance at Maine Road nearly 28 years ago, I hated Wimbledon because of the "Crazy Gang" title, a tag given because there was little talent in a team that was based on team ethic, high ball tactics and being dirty bastards basically! AFC Wimbledon have done well climbing the lower leagues to where they are, have a good set up and new fan base. May the best team win the Final!

luton town had the audacity to win the littlewoods cup as i was getting into football. i also remember them playing at maine road the saturday after the 5-1 and felt great because it was my birthday. a few years later, i made my solitary appearance as a ball boy against luton.

all that said, i hope wimbledon beat them and then overtake mkdons.

Luton and Wimbledon might both be travelling up to The COMS to play their final. I'm sure the last few Conference finals have been at Wembley. Went to Halifax - Hereford at Leicester of all places. Long booked before the teams contesting the final had been decided.

The Wombles are 1-0 up away at half time. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/9475719.stm

Edit: 2-0 Wimbledon now. Really pleased for them.
