Good post. I'm torn on this one! Can still see Pleat an his brown shoe dance at Maine Road nearly 28 years ago, I hated Wimbledon because of the "Crazy Gang" title, a tag given because there was little talent in a team that was based on team ethic, high ball tactics and being dirty bastards basically! AFC Wimbledon have done well climbing the lower leagues to where they are, have a good set up and new fan base. you just knew someone would bring up the grudge against luton even though the real villain that day was john benson who sent city out to play for a draw instead of a win.
don't forget that in their previous incarnation wimbledon weren't the cuddly wombles of children's folklore. they were a bunch of dirty, cheating route one bastards. john 'elbows' fashanu, vinnie jones, john hartson & dennis wise are just four that spring to mind immediately.
