After a nights sleep...

i just find it astonishing that with all our investment we end up with a player like vieria on the pitch, a fantastic player in his day, but that was years ago.

the continued inclusion of jo and vieria is just not funny, they are ruining our season, and how a supposed top class manager cannot see it is incredible.

rather than keep giving them games, lets find a system that totally overlooks them, they are a waste of space, and will not in a million years help city to the top 4 or a cup final.

I think that is complete rubbish mate.

We all want the same thing, success but in football, opinions on how to get that success will always differ.

This isn't about individual posters on a City forum, its about our club.
As I said, it's not all, but some. What am I supposed to think when someone calls the other posters here "deluded fuckwits?" That's "debate?" Seriously, it's ridiculous. It's okay for someone angry for not getting everything their way to call people names, but anyone getting angry at being called names is being a "Bad Blue" and "not wanting debate." That's a load of crap. Calling people names and lying about being on the wind-up isn't debate. It isn't in good faith. It's wanting to be right and being spiteful enough to think that because we have loads and loads of cash it's okay if we fail for now because then The Powers That Be will see that Poster X was right all along and will make changes that suit Poster X, and since we have the aforementioned loads and loads of cash success is inevitable. That's the key. They think success is inevitable, but they only want it on their terms. So they're quite willing to see things crash and burn for now.

Yes. Constant progression. If you believe we are no better than we were under Hughes, I'd question how much of us you have actually watched.

Flogging a dead horse there Damocles..some just cant see that we are progressing.
How people are even capable of saying we haven't progressed under Mancini is baffling to me, mind you when we win 3 in a row again they'll all be back on the bandwagon again, it's actually quite amusing.

It's hard not to progress a little with the amount of money that has been spent. However, given that money spent, we are entitled to expect a bit more progress than we have seen.

The facts are that we still have to go to United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton with our other two away games at Blackburn and Bolton. These are all very difficult games and the absence of these from the fixture list so far has possibly distorted the real truth about progress. The way we go about our business suggests we are unlikely to win many (if any) of those games and anything less than three points at home to Spurs is going to kill off our top four challenge.

For all that money, we have assembled a midfield that is completely one-paced and is static off the ball. The defence is jittery, and has been single-handedly kept together by Vincent Kompany. Lose him to injury and we are in a right mess. The tempo of our game does not hurt the opposition either. In short, the tactics and many of the personnel are not suitable to challenge for the top in the English Premier League.

It's only my opinion of course, but I honestly feel that if we stick with Mancini then that big chance to become a big player in European football over the next few years is going to be lost forever.

Drawing away and winning at home wins you the league..........I didn't like last nights game anymore than any of you Mancini outers BUT we are progressing and nicely IMHO, a few players are currently off form or injured, a win at weekend will turn this typical city fan bitching back to positive notes I'm sure......chin up guys it could and has been much worse for us

Forza Mancini

Steady, steady progress and I think we have greater potential than any of the current top teams. We have a great squad, much stronger than most rivals, and when we can play our strongest teams on a consistent basis we will see the benefit of all the hard work done within the club.

I hate to be pedantic, ( well no, actually I love it! ) but winning at home and drawing away only gets you 76 pts. Some years you would not even have got into the Champions League with 76. Last year it would have been 3rd. This brings me onto my main point yet again. Football is now set up to favour attacking teams, teams that are positive, teams that go for wins. 3pts for a win, no tackling from behind, sending offs for last man fouls, offside anomalies etc. Football is now a TV game and the rules will continue to change in favour of entertainment i.e. attacking play. I'm certainly no Mancini outer but he is peeing into the wind with his defensive focus.

to put his personal differences ahead of the teams benefit is ludicrous, which is what he has done.

and to spend all that money and to be the slowest team in the premiership(?) is also ludicrous.

his stubborness will ultimately cost him

A great thread guys with some really eye opening comments but the "after a nights sleep you supposed to less hysterical " was very funny and so true. Last night was disappointing especially after such a good start. We seem to take the foot off the gas and let them back in. I know you'll laugh but I do think the pitch had a lot to do with the performance last night. There were divots everywhere and players who normally pass well were hitting them wayward. The pitch is the worst in the premiership.

Why didn't Aresnal have any problem then?

After a nights sleep I am still depressed. A point at Brum is a decent point on paper but more points were there to be had......again.

I don't want him sacked or owt, and he is way better than Hughes. I think though that what frustrates me most about Bobby is that he has assembled this great squad and still insists on freezing out some who might help the cause, and playing those who clearly won't no matter how much they try.

A squad is there to be utilised. He needs to be more flexible or this season may just peter out.

THIS....

Mancini;s own stubbourness could be his downfall

exactly mate you would think we have been bundled out of the cup 5 nil/finished last in our Europa Group/had been thrashed by that master tactician hughes at the cottage and tevez had handed in a transfer request.

with the exception of Tevez (hardly Mancinis doing)we have a cup tie at home/qualified top of our group and are in third FFS!

Mancini is the best manager we have had in decades and no i did not think Hughes should have been sacked the way he was last year but Mancini has won me over.

Did everyone expect us to stroll through the season with what is essentially a new team playing champagne football and not conceding a goal?

Because the pitch wasn't in as bad a condition and after getting destroyed they decided to not take chances against passing teams again at home?

Because that was a couple of weeks ago, the pitch has worsened because of the recent rain.

I was very excited to watch Hughes take us to 10th and 6th, yes.

I'd rather be bored to the title, than entertained to scraping Europa, but that's just me

it worries me how much sense you write!
there's a difference between how we are playing and how we can play. form...class..etc
our defence needs to wake up imho but there's no one i'd rather be in charge of that than mancini.
