After the World Cup disappointment, can our returning players focus on winning the league?

Just giving it a quick thought the only city player to have a disaster was de bruyne with many being commended for good performances;

Ake - have seen some say the netherlands best player. lost on penalty and didnt take one.

Rodri & Laporte - not to blame, ever present. hopefully Laporte has stopped blubbing by now, he’s not even Spanish ffs

Bernie, Dias - slight critiscm for the morocco game, nothing major
Cancelo - dropped but i think the portugese public have marginally backlashed that he should have played against morocco

Stones, Walker, Foden - all played well. no blame there
Philips, Grealish - barely a kick, wont feel any responsibility

Alvaraz - slight surprise to be first choice perhaps whatever happens. unless he misses in a shoot out should be ok.

Akanji - played decent. scored. team got about what they expected.

Ederson - didnt play.

Gundog - scored a pen then got substituted against Japan and Germany collapsed. not his fault

KDB - shite and caused a stir. probably
not done his brand any good
No criticism for KDB.

He was asked a question and gave a direct, honest answer.

If he'd have bullshited an arrogant, conceited answer he'd have been slaughtered before during and after
....and rightly so !!

i’m not sure but i think it was an in depth at home interview with the Guardian and did the journalist just overhear him talking to his management team in a private conversation?

so unless he repeated it wasnt really an answer to a direct question which does seem harsh to criticise him for

Alvarez has been brilliant so far, the others have time to recover, so hopefully Pep will rotate sensibly and keep the team on fire

Hilarious ITV panel Keane, Wright and Neville don’t think it’s a pen… even Peter Walton thinks it’s a pen
