Ageing team

Most of those ages are wrong, plenty of those players have a birthday before they play their first game under Pep
Correct. Kompany will be 30, Hart 29, Fernandinho 31, Nasri 29, KDB 25, Aguero 28 at the start of next season.

Whatever, at the end of the day Hart isn't even 30 and most goalkeepers enter their prime in their early 30s. In the 10 outfield players I posted 5 of them are in their early 20s.

Why do some of our fans believe the apocalyptic line the press spin about our squad.

Real Madrid fans aren't shitting themselves because Ronaldo is in his 30s, Bale is 27 and Benzema is 28.

Ribery and Robben are early 30s but Bayern fans don't mind.

You'd think Silva is collecting his pension the way some on here talk.

John Terry was the best defender in England last year at 35 and United kept plugging along under Ferguson when Evra, smack head and Vidic were much older than our crop.

Yes and you can add no conviction , physicality and mental toughness either.

They are poorly managed and given up an easy goal at home after equalising sums up this team to a tee , they are disorganised and not up for a fight.

I would add Sagna and Delph to that list as well.

Massive overhaul needed but it will probably take 2-3 windows to do it.

This is our worst season since the takeover all things considered.

And we have a winner.

Baconface always said that teams are in 3-4 year cycles. Our team has been great, they are an old team now and a overhaul is needed. In today's football it's hard to have a team with a lot of players 28 and above.

I don't think age is the major factor here. I think it's more to do with lack of effort and more importantly being able to get away with that lack of effort.

There's no lack of effort, that's just a favourite cliche thrown about by football fans. Younger players just have better fitness levels and less wear and tear on their bodies.

please give me one team in the past which more than half of the team are in their 30s, and can play high intensity and energetic game. i remember none. there is no coincidence that we are playing so slow and predictable. too many old players in the team. the number should keep in check around 1/4 from the team or max 6 from 22 players. half of the squad should be in their prime years, 23-28.

I think its obvious we have to bring in younger players but have the nous and drive and talent for success from the outset.

They may not turn out to be the right players but Sterling and KDB are part of that need.
