Aguero/Fernandinho suspensions

Ironic, isn't it...we finally get a fit Kun who hasn't missed a game this season through injury and the chump gets himself banned twice, missing more games than he usually does

Every week I read a match report or an opinion that a Chelsea player was lucky to stay on the pitch (Luiz against the Rags springs to mind, and at least two occasions for Costa).

Chelsea play on the edge, spoiling, time wasting, and constantly niggling their opponents. There were 4 occasions yesterday when the game was stopped for a mysterious injury, nowhere near the ball, only for the poleaxed player to somehow make a Lazarus-style recovery once the City momentum had slowed.

Leicester were equally clever last season, and there’s obviously an Italian influence.

In contrast City suffer red cards for headbutting when we’re winning 4-0. In fact, regardless of one of the worst refereeing performances that I’ve ever witnessed, we’re rapidly acquiring a reputation as petulant soft arses.

Absolutely spot on - these were the type of tactics initiated under Jose, and taken up a level by Conte, but I agree that we are just naiive in not adopting the " dark arts " when they are needed to slow down or break up play.

In saying that, the Taylor would have probably booked our players for " simulation ".

Would not be surprised if we appeal Dinos sending off. Two factors, slap of the face albeit soft and the Chelsea player only getting a booking for a shove

Will never happen. The best that can be hoped for is a red card extension for Fabregas for the slap.

Waiting for Sky to ramp up the pressure on the premier league for Aguero's "worst foul ever seen" one of the lower league players got ten games recently for excessive violence , the bandwagon will start tomorrow on Sunday Supplement and the red tops will be in full swing , maybe a public hanging will suffice

"worst foul ever seen" until Rojo's just now, course he only got a yellow and no retrospective action as ref 'saw' it and chose to give yellow.

We can't appeal it, the silly fucker raised his hand to someone's face and Taylor is hardly going to say he got it wrong, they'll extend it to 4 games if we do. Just a pity Dinho didn't actually deck the ****.

Otamendi banned for Leicester as well.

Guess we'll have to line up like this.

Bravo

Sagna Stones Kolarov Clichy

Gundogan Fernando

Sterling KDB Silva

Iheanacho

Still a strong side that's more than capable of picking up points.

Why not Nolito instead of Yaya? Apart from his petulant conduct, he has rarely let us down when he has played. Or Sane, who showed some real potential yesterday?

Just watched a video of the Aguero incident . Luiz was ready to body check him again so Aguero went to kick the ball and kicked Luiz who ran into him. No malice whatsoever .

Because I'd like Nando to be a nominal part of the backline and Yaya to sit deepest in midfield bar him allowing Gundogan to break forward. Nolito and Sané can't do that, no bother with either of them playing though if they're picked, Nolito has done the business every time he's played and Sané was superb yesterday.

I'm being a little optimistic perhaps, but remember when we had all our strikers out during December last year? It forced Pellegrini to change tactics and play without a striker for some games, we actually won all of those games quite comfortably.

Losing both Aguero and Fernandinho will show us whether Pep really is the world class manager we've all been told he is over the rest of this month.

Still haven't got over his clanger in bringing on Clichy for Sane and still play the same system, if he wasn't sure about Sane, why on earth didn't he have Nolito in the match squad to pick instead?

It's not as if Nolito was experiencing tiredness considering the suspension he's had recently and that he doesn't always start games automatically anyway.

Yeah if it wasn't for the aftermath we could try appealing it, no chance now though.

No, I remember when it happened the year before though :)

Fuck Bravo off and play Willie...at least he can try and save shots ...something Bravo seems incapable of
Willy wouldn't have saved any of their goals yesterday, the defence should take the blame for those, 2 were straight one on ones.
