Aguero (Merged)

Although some people say they have never clicked when they've played together for Argentina.

This is true, but you have to remember that Tevez really hasn't performed in recent years at international level anyway, regardless of who he has partnered. Also, it has coincided with the most clueless of managers being at the helm.

Yeh, Maradona is more of an icon and emotional choice of manager. Probably makes Megson look like a tactical genius.
I think tevez and Aguero might be too similar. But would love him all the same

Aye I saw quite a few of their games over qualifying and they never looked to have an understanding.

Saying that, the whole squad was abysmal, even Messi. Maradona is an awful, awful manager.

You may have a point.

au contraire, my take here is different.
Aguero was sidelined by his father-in-law because of his alleged 'takeouts'. Perhaps if he had been in the starting lineup in the final qualifying stages, they would have qualified easily. Its true that the three amigos had difficulties in gelling.
Its worthwhile to note that with Aguero on the bench, Messi and Tevez was not performing well together either.
The bottom line is that Maradona realized that and dropped Tevez & Aguero on the bench. Argentina pipped in qualifying at the last WCQ game.
How can one say then Maradona does not have a clue when he proved all the pundits wrong !

If we do get Aguero and Chiellini then what do you think the formation should be if everyone was fit and it was after ANC so around March.

I'd say:
-------------Given-----------
Toure-Chiellini--Lescott-Bridge
SWP------De Jong----Barry---
------Tevez----Aguero-------
----------Adebayor----------
only thing back four
maicon---chiellini---toure---bridge
