Juventus have stepped up their interest in Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero by tabling a £30 million+ offer for the striker.
SportsDirect News recently revealed that The Old Lady were keen on linking up Aguero with his former City teammate and fellow Argentine Carlos Tevez, who Juve signed from City this summer for £12m.
A source at City told SportsDirect News Juventus have "been in touch again" about the player's availability following City boss Manuel Pellegrini's announcement that Edin Dzeko would be his main striker next season.
"Aguero's hopes of regular football will not have improved following that statement plus the £22m signing of Montenegro international forward Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina," said the source. "You don't buy players of that ilk to stick them on the bench."
Aguero joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for £38m.

Speculation ends here...

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/news/team-news/2013/may/aguero-signs-new-deal" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/news/team-news/20 ... s-new-deal</a>
Contracts mean very little in football. It just means the selling club can negotiate over a higher fee when the time comes. Signing a new contract doesn't necessarily mean a player isn't for sale.

CRonaldo signed a new contract a year before he was sold. Bale signed a new contract not long ago and it still remains to be seen if he's going to be sold this Summer or next.

However I'm safe in the thought that he's not for sale as he's our #1star and if we were going to be selling him then the ambitions of our club are nothing like we'd imagine (as in, they're much lower!).

Even if it was a reliable website/paper/journalist the article says "A City source..." which means it's just made up.

Sergio Agüero in frame for Manchester City opener against Newcastle
• Sergio Agüero to return to training after missing pre-season
• Boost for manager Manuel Pellegrini's bid to reclaim the title

Jamie Jackson theguardian.com, Thursday 8 August 2013 16.17 BST

Sergio Agüero will be available for Manchester City's opening Premier League match, the visit of Newcastle United on 19 August, with the striker set to return to training by the end of the week following the knee injury that ruled him out of all of the club's pre-season games.

The news is a boost for Manuel Pellegrini as the new manager attempts to reclaim the championship for City. Agüero's last appearance was in a 5-3 win over Chelsea in New York in late May during City's mini-tour of America. By the time of Newcastle's visit it will be nearly three months since the Argentina forward has played so whether Pellegrini will name him in the starting XI remains in the balance. The manager is without his key central defender Matija Nastasic for up to six weeks following the ankle injury he suffered in the Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.
