Agueroooooooo - 10 years on in May

I wasn't at Gillingham but don't think I could have ever gone back if I'd walked away from the QPR game and missed that moment. I think of it at least once a week and will watch it tens of times in a row if I'm pissed.
Much the same for me. The euphoria of that moment and the sheer noise and emotion gets me every single time.
I did a best man speech a while back for my oldest mate who’s a durty rag and as one eyed a red as I am Blue.
He didn’t appreciate me reminding him and thanking him that it was he who sorted me out for a ticket that day with the immortal words “you’ll never see anything like it on your life so drink it in!!”
When he got back up to speak to the room he said “if I’d known that was going to happen I d have left you outside the ground without a ticket”
Never let them forget.
And never forgive that banner

Did a job for a blue the other day, 80 year old fella. He had a photo collage of aguerooooo moment in his hall so we got talking about it and he told me this little tale.

he used to go with his wife, 3 sons, 2 brother in laws and nephews. 9 of them.
His wife sadly passed away during the season and the family had very much spoke of winning the title for his wife.
at that last game he had in his pocket his wifes ashes that he had made into a heart shape , he took it with him so it was like she was there.

when edins goal went in, like a lot of us, they thought too little too late he said he looked at his sons who were in bits as they ‘hadnt won it for mum’. So he took the heart in his hands , looked up and whispered, “come on love, make it happen”.
And then … agueroooooo!!

the fella started blubbing at this point. And i had tears coming out my eyes!!
There we were, 2 blues who were total strangers , talking about that day and having a little cry.
i fuckin love City me

What a brilliant story.

It brought tears to my eyes too.
