Air fryer/Slow Cooker vs Oven

Lad I know has bought one of these and has put a ton of weight on since, maybe it's given him the green light to eat the foods he wanted to eat that were once deep fried.
 
Anyone have any experience with these things and how they compare to a microve/convection oven combi?

From reading online it sounds like the latter is just a bigger air fryer, which would probably make sense for us as our microwave needs replacing asap anyway, but any pearls of wisdom would be appreciated!

Santa brought me a Ninja 11 in 1 and its brilliant. I'm now after a good recipe book for it. Any recommendations anybody. Cheers. Tony.
 
Just upgraded from an airfryer to a multi cooker does just about everything but a bit more complex whether it works for me only time will tell
