Airline ticket question

I have booked 8 of us to go to France next year to watch the Euro's. On one of the bookings I have put Peter instead of Philip as a middle name and the date of birth is out by two days.

These were booked through GoToGate who tell me that I cannot amend the booking. I have rung the airline direct and they cannot amend bookings direct from the passenger when it is via a 3rd party.

Does anyone (or the Mrs) work at an airport who can check if he'll get on the plane ok with the middle name and DOB wrong?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Nope, he won't. The airline risks a £20,000 fine and they won't take the chance.

Changing the name on the system takes 10 seconds, so you just need to shout at them until they do it. They may charge, but they can do it.

Call airport switchboard, numbers on their website. Ask them to put u through to check in / handling agent for your airline. Once through , they will sort out. May have to pay. Tip never put middle name on airline booking, even if on passport, no need to tell airline middle name and just increase chance of spelling mistakes.

Become an airline knobhead like on those old tv shows? Doubt that's necessary. Show up on time, explain the slight booking mistake and off you pop.

Shouldn't even be an issue to be fair.

It will probably be cheaper and easier to ask the guy to change his name/D.O.B to the one on the airline ticket.

It's no guarantee but you may just make it, the DOB does not appear on tickets so to remove a further chance of them noticing, check in online, you can then issue your tickets yourself and just hope they don't cross the passport DOB to the one they have on the system at bag drop. Had you not taken any bags for example no-one would even look at the passports until you enter France beyond checking the picture in it is you.

I flew to the US last year for a week and then onwards to Mexico for another week there - on the return I had to transit via the US again but Delta for some reason decided to add Mr to my name so my first name on the ticket was Mr MrChris. I never even mentioned it and had zero problems and that included scrutiny from the famous American border people who said nothing. You should definitely query the DOB but you should be alright seeing as any idiot can work out it was just a mistake. As for the middle name well most people don't even remember to add them let alone enter the wrong one, they probably won't even notice it.
