Are people seriously going to be supping in Irish bars?

What is that supposed to mean?

As in why go to a place like Amsterdam and waste your time in an Irish bar?

Blarney Stone has a big screen & will be full of blues

Blarney Stone is great value for money unlike the tourist traps down the red light .Paddy the Manager is a big Blue who been going for Donkies years .it is near loads of other pubs & eating places & just round the corner from a belting Dutch Pub the Cafe de Ster .alot of bars are quite small but the two mentioned can fit a lot in plus if you aint got a ticket Blarney Stone is a belting place to watch it .& they do grat Bacon & Eggs each to your own though

I'm traveling over there on my own, staying in the flying pig downtown hostel (stayed there before, mental). Will it be fairly easy to navigate my way to the ground from there?

Yep, just get the '54 Metro' from Central Station, straight to the Amsterdam Arena.

Staying there too in the 32 bed dorm Wednesday night.

5 mins away from Dam Square so can't see myself spending much time in the hostel.

Weather looks decent as well.

It is a Dutch Bar frequented by the Dutch & close to loads of the action ,tram stops central Station. Red Light .Loads of great pubs near by .5 min walk from the stop which takes you to the ground
