Please make sure that you buy tickets for the metro if you want to travel that way. At the Bijlmer/Arena station (and most other stations) they have big doors that can only be opened when you place the metro ticket on the card reader. You're pretty much screwed if you don't have a ticket. I'm not sure if they open the doors for football matches but you can never be to safe.cyberblue said:The Ground about 12 minutes away from metro & Central Station which is about 5 min away from all the actionFORZA CITY said:Anyone been there with England or know any rags that went last season? If so how far is the ground from all the "attractions" and how long does it take to get there? Is it walkable or a tram job?
Rags I know that went last season didn't go to the game so f*ck knows.

If you want to enjoy your time in the most popular area in A'dam you should go to Leidseplein. There are a lot of bars there, cinemas, restaurants, Holland Casino, theaters...everything. You can either take the tram (1,2,5) or bus from Central station which is about 15 mins.
This is the best website to get your travel schedule in order.

Make sure that you buy a ticket like this. You can purchase a day ticket for 7,50 that will give you access to Metro, Tram and Bus (Only GVB bus) for 24 hours. You can also purchase these cards for 1 hour, 3 hours, 48 hours etc. You can buy these cards from machines, ticket offices in central station...there are also service men/women at the station if you need any help.stonerblue said:Inbetween the 2 Smokies on the first street of the rld if coming from the station are two decent boozers

Cheers. Do the tickets for the trams work on the metro. The prepaid ones from the kiosk outside central station?

Please make sure that you don't forget to both check-in and check-out when using the tram.
