You will be even more annoyed to learn that it is 1:00pm (straight after lunch) here in New Zealand - a good night's sleep for a change before one of our games.
 
These are a decent side, attacked RM from the off and had at least one chalked off with a marginal offside early doors.

Not been beaten yet and their overseas players are motivated to prove the point they haven't gone to some retirement league.

The usual rotation but need to have the majority of starters as first picks, and Ederson.

Whatever you think of the tournament in terms of football quality, there's one simple fact — being at the point we're at has already paid for Rayan Ait-Nouri. If we get to the semi-final and final, that will have paid for Cherki.
That's not to be sniffed at, when you're running the finances of a club.

The quality is good not CL standard but good. By the time we get to the last 8 it will be very good.

plus we’ve enjoyed watching the games. A brilliant way to bed in new players and get our mojo back. We could be in Malaysia getting booed on an open top bus parade after all!
 
I don't think we can take these lightly. We have to attack from the off and play on the front foot. Another performance like against Juve and I'll be pleased. I expect to see Haaland, Foden, Cherki, Gvardiol and Oreilly start.

I'm going to admit I haven't watched any full match, just highlights. But my distinct impression is that this version of the CWC is levels above the last iteration in Saudi, in terms of commitment by the teams (not just City).
I remember going to see Liverpool play someone (forget who, someone from Latin America) in Tokyo in the mid-eighties for the original version of this “competition”. Rush was still playing. It was a joke game, really. Played at semi-training pace. God but I was starved for live football in those days.
 
Billy Whizz!

There was a lad called Billy with a similar haircut who came in our local boozer back in the late 70’s, he was known as “Billy Whizz”

He was a HGV driver and whilst on his deliveries he had a heart attack and unfortunately passed away, only mid to late 30’s.

Whenever he was talked about, he was posthumously know as “Billy Was”, great lad.

Just realised Cancelo plays for these, he seemed to go out on a low so I wonder how the atmosphere will be between him and Pep and or players

Always difficult to know what a game takes out of him - he seems to glide around so effortlessly.

I think that I'd like to see him given as much game time as possible. The difference between Juve and his previous cameos was stark, with those unexpected stray passes seemingly already eliminated?
