They just can't take it to the Middle East in the summer and it doesn't work in the winter with scheduling.

Saudi have bankrolled this edition, but they're getting the 2034 World Cup so maybe it's quid pro quo for that deal.

FIFA tournaments are becoming more and more absurd so we just have to get used to it. Spain, Portugal and Morocco in 2030, with some games in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay just for a bit of history and nostalgia - and carbon footprint!

I don't mind too much where it's hosted, I just hate the drawn out process with the third best placed teams in the international tournaments. It rewards mediocrity and promotes defensive and sterile tactics. The Euros was abysmal for it. The World Cup will be too.

Think they're talking about winter...if we're in it we'll have about 7 games in hand by the time it finishes;-(
