Sardines bbqed straight of the boats old town harbour
Now that i could handle.
I have two options lined up and one of em is in the old town. The other is in Algous aqua (sp) further along the coast. Only about £700 all in which is not to shabby.

Love the Algarve - nice friendly people. Went last year hired a car and took it back with scratches down both sides and no wing mirrors. Kept finding myself on wrong side of the road.

Go every year and love Albufeira. As said by others the old town is perfect for food and booze, without the hustle and bustle of new town.
For beaches we love Gale beach near Vale de Parra. It's flat, got beautiful clean sand, has a couple of beach bars and you may even bump into Buzzer!!
