I was having a meal at an Italian restaurant on Park Lane in Poynton about 10 years ago. Russell Watson was sat a couple of tables away and after he finished his meal he then got up and started singing for the restaurant, free of charge, in what looked like an unplanned way. The other diners politely clapped after a couple of songs, then he sat down, paid his bill and quietly left with his Mrs (I assumed). If I'd have known he was a rag then I'd have shouted "Hurry up Russ, your train for London is leaving in ten minutes!".
