I picked up the NME many years ago and they were raving about an indie boy/girl rock duo akin to White Stripes etc. A few weeks passed, and whilst browsing the academy listings (I used to go to about 15+ gigs a year so this was the norm), I bought tickets. Support band were The Zutons, who were a whole load of fun to watch, but I didn't catch their name. Then The Thrills appeared. I realised I'd bought tickets for the wrong gig fairly quickly. They were ok, very fairweather band really. Apparently it was The Kills I should have bought tickets for, but never did. The next week I was in Liverpool and heard a Zutons track being played by a DJ and asked their name, and then caught them in Night and Day not long after. Cracking band.
