Album you wish you were hearing for the first time.

I downloaded Innervisions by Stevie Wonder last week.
Not an artist I’ve paid too much attention to, but saw him on BBC 4 a few weeks back and said I’d give it a listen.

Fabulous album.

Great to discover something like this from 1973, just now.
2 more you should get are "Hotter Than July" and "Songs in the Key of Life".

Both seminal albums. "Ain't going to stand for it" and "Sir Duke" are corkers from them but to be honest both albums are full of beautiful and juicy Wonder songs.

The Empyrean by John Frusciante. I was gutted when he left the Chillis’ again but this album made me understand why he left. It’s an unbelievably beautiful album and I can’t recommend it enough.

Pretty soon after the debut LP, Trent Darby released an impenetrable second record, went loopy, discovered motorbikes and disappeared to hang out in Dublin.

Fuck yes!

Best debut album ever.

That's another thread really but my choice for best debut album ever would be Van Halen's eponymous first. Hearing that for the first time was revelatory experience as I'd never heard guitar playing quite like that before (you'd probably have had to be a resident of Southern California to have done so).

Already did.
Have the three of them on Spotify now.
