Just wondered if there will be alcohol on sale in the stadium for the Champions League home games, or is it banned for all European games, as it was in the Europa League?

Just means i will stay in The Waldorf a bit longer if it's banned in the ground!

They don't serve Guinness in the ground anyway so you'd never get me in there drinking before, during or after games.

Banned by the hypocrites at eufa. Happy enough to take sponsorship money for the competition from beer companies but don't allow drinking at the game.

must admit it really pisses me off

you can drink as much as you like outside, there's no restriction, but as soon as you are in the stadium we would turn into drunken looneys smashing the place up

its annoying that the faceless uefa twats will be in hospitality helping themselves to as much alcohol as they want, but not if you are one of the lower plebs paying for their privilege

Agree, One of those things that shouldn't really matter but really bugs me.
Slightly off topic. Saw a Dutch league game and there are people drinking and smoking on the terraces

Yeah, I think the British are the only clubs that have an alcohol ban at home grounds in Europe? (correct me if I am wrong)

The image that always comes to mind when thinking of alcohol at European games is Hamburg away a few years ago - that blonde German woman who got soaked with beer when Hamburg scored against us, it kept getting replayed on the TV

Thanks for the feedback. Town it is then, until 7.15pm, then black cab.

Can't wait for this, 1st Champs League home game, and a load of mad Italians thrown into the mix!

Should be one to remember!

Couldn't say for sure but wouldn't surprise me. Anyway main point is no beer at the ground at European games

First year I moved to the states I was shown the secret of buying a beer belly :D

No, the alcohol ban applies to all UEFA matches, what you saw at Hamburg was the alcohol-free stuff. Some City fans were so pissed when they got in that they couldn't tell the difference.
