Exactly to think Alec Baldwin is completely without blame here is ludicrous. As he mentioned in that clip which was posted on the last page, he's aware of the fact millions of live rounds have been fired on film sets in the past, it goes without saying he failed to follow the correct gun safety measures.

Even if he's let off the hook for that he's the producer on set and presumably hired the "gun safety expert" so some culpability definitely needs to be had here.

He probably did nothing wrong but in English and Welsh law it is vicarious liability so still responsible, and I expect it to be similar there.

Don't expect him to see the inside of a jail cell however multiple lawsuits have already been filed against him from his fellow crew members. Even one of the main cameramen quit from the set citing huge safety concerns 1 day before her tragic demise.
