he did indeed! Scored a few blinders. This was only a few weeks after signing for City. Was at the game and remember it well. He was an attacking midfielder before he joined the club so he has it in him.

Good example of his passing (not Angelino's attacking abilities in this too! Imagine him playing those passes to Sane) around the one minute mark here too. Stunning drilled ball to Barker.

If he could start to get those assets to his game he'd suddenly go up a notch and be a really highly valued player. He's never gonna be a Ferna defensively, so he'll have to be a different kind of #6 to impress. A ball playing, creative one.

Strange he has become so 'safe' but it could be down to the job he's been asked to do in Spain.

The pass Angelino hit to Barker early on; he hit two similar ones yesterday but Leroy had gone off.

To Sané that pass is a killer & of course Garcia could certainly feed the wingers from deep if he put his mind to it.

Lol. Didn't this same discussion go on for a week earlier in the summer?

Uhh, don't remind me!

Sometimes I wished we had a sticky rules thread
where anything about
PL and CL squad rules,
work permit rules,
tapping up rules
and btw forum rules
would be permanently in front of anyone's eyes.

But that would certainly reduce clickrate drastically ;)

Just saw that he took part in the PL media day in the latest Inside City video.

Potentially might have a role with the squad? Given Sane's injury, there may be some room for some cup appearances with Bernardo being shifted out wide for the majority of the season.

Wouldn't be a bad idea blooding him in with Silva leaving next season and the possibility of us being hit with a transfer ban.

He'll probably just get a loan in the next 3 weeks to somewhere in Spain.

Good luck to him on his loan. Presumably he has signed a new contract and gone on loan as per our usual strategy unless we really don't see any value in him,

Playing devil's advocate, if he had any value he probably wouldn't have gone to Royal Excel Mouscron. A real shame too, when we signed him he was knocking on the door of Villarreal's first team and he joined us at a time when we were even worse at dealing with young players than we are now. Have to wonder how his career would've went if he had just stayed in Spain.

How come he is listed as a home-grown player on the PL OS?

He has only spent 25 months in England and the rest of the time on loan at Girona. Does that time count after all? Why is there no clearly worded guideline available anywhere?
Yes, it does count. You have to be registered at a domestic club for 3 seasons before you turn 21 to count as one. Doesn't matter if you are loaned out abroad within this period.

So if we buy a youth player and loan him continuously for 3 seasons he will count as homegrown even if he never steps onto a pitch in England? Makes sense.

Got both goals in a 2-2 draw Sat for Royal Mouscron. Couldn't find any video, dang it.
And Palaversa still is a no show for KV-O. They predicted a month out for Pala, so should be back soon.

I have always thought this would be the interpretation. Different competitions have different rules and the clubs will have big ticket law firms working on it as it is so murky.

The clearest indicator is that clubs do loan out players a lot in the age gap where they need to clock up the 2 years. There would be more domestic loans if the rules did not allow for loans to count.

Seems like he's playing further up than he has in the past, Gundo-lite almost. Its turning out to be a really good loan from a confidence perspective. I don't think he has a future here but he'd get us a nice profit.
