So after "selling Kolarov at all costs", it's now "No Kolarov at LB ever" and "He should only play at CB". Fernandinho played one game and is already seen as a better left back. Delph hasn't even played there in his entire life, yet people would prefer him to Kolarov at leftback. Sagna came on to be leftback yesterday, so now he also is a better leftback than Kolarov.
And Kolarov was totally exposed yesterday. Was he? Yes, he made two mistakes, one forced, one unforced. Some of his longrange passes didn't hit the supposed target, mainly due to the fact our midfielders played sloppy back passes that did put him under more pressuere than needed. But hey, it sounds as if he was totally exposed. Shall I go by every player yesterday and name their faults, the passes that went astray, and how they are immediately start shitting themselves when Bravo plays the ball to them. Not so Kolarov.
I agree he has played better at CB than at LB. Hell, Zabaleta played better as a DM than at rightback. But I don't see anybody stating Zaba should never play as a RB. Where's the difference? I'm just happy we have a manager who sees Kolarov this season is his most reliable defender. Probably that is why he has made most minutes on the pitch.
