Alex Higgins

What's 'sad' about this news is the fact that he managed to kill himself with entirely legal drugs that we are all encouraged to use.

No sympathy at all from me.

Widely considered as the greatest frame of snooker ever.

Great snooker player, not such a good human being off it. I loved watching him when I was younger - he certainly made snooker more exciting.

alex was the lovable rogue....mind you nothing nice about the man...he was a character i just got used to as a kid... and the comedy sketches dedicated to the hurricane.....time for a movie? :) R.I.P. alex cheers for the good memories

when i was about 8/9 years old i got up on a saturday morning and went down stairs to watch saturday morning t.v to find a comatosed bloke on my couch when he woke up he asked if i was alright then asked me if i knew who he was i didnt have a clue and shook my head he then took a matchbook out of his pocket and autographed it and gave it to me. it turned out to be the one and only alex higgins he had been out on the lash with my stepdad the night before.
r.i.p alex a true legend

Used to see him about Belfast all the time, he used to drink in the Mermaid. He looked like shit for years and could hardly talk because of the throat cancer, suprised he made it to 61. As has been said not a very nice guy but a fucking cracking snooker player. Lets remember him for the good things and not the bad.

RIP Hurricane

Whatever you say about him he made snooker really popular and interesting for a lot of people. There were a lot more characters in his day anyway.

Shame for him but lived his life the way he wanted I suppose.
