I've got 30 quid on Hughes to get the Villa job at 5-1 so very much hoping the same. It is looking a bit worrying at the moment if they have made enquiries to Birmingham but it would be such a ludicrous appointment (especially if they have to pay several million quid compensation for a manager who plays awful football and has twice been relegated in 4 seasons in English football). Surely Lerner isn't that mental?
 
It's a shame I don't actually know any Villa fans, It'd be awesome if I did and they got Mcleish. I'd have a field day.

Remember a couple of years ago when the media were being particularly vicious about our owner and this guy was being held up as the acceptable way for a foreign owner to run an English football club? Just goes to show just how little the football media in this country know about anything.
 
If Randy Lerner appoints this man, it'll be a fucking joke. The fact we're even looking at him is a shambles. I love/loved Lerner but WTF is he playing at?

Villa Park will quickly empty if this guy is appointed.

The only hope is that Blues play really hard and make sure McLeish doesn't come here, or the board listen to the fans, ALL of the fans who don't want him near our club.

I've just had it on good authority that Mcleish has definitely quit over Birminghams transfer policy NOT because he was interested or tapped up by the Villa job.

Carson Yeung said to him "Wa yu wan faw playas in suma Awex?" , McLeish replied "6 defenders". Yeung came back with Marlon King. "I said 6 defenders, not sex offenders".

Mcleish?Will he or anyone get some funds?Weird how Martinez walked away.
Randy Lerner wouldn't give O'Neill any money to buy at the start of last season that was a huge mistake on his part.A majority shareholder and self appointed chairman that knows more about the Cleveland Browns than AV I should imagine.Do you buy a season ticket while this debacle continues?If Mcleish changes colours I dont see how its possible to put your hand in your pocket.Some things are just beyond the pale.

No clue what Lerner is doing. There are plenty of managers without work who are better than McLeish.
 
I was out on the piss Sunday with a die-hard Brum when the news broke.
He hates McLeish and was delighted.
Then the Villa rumours started and he was doubly delighted.
It was drinks all round.
 
I know I'm in the minority here, but I quite like Villa.

Hope McLeish doesn't get the job. An awful manager with a style of football to match.

I also think Martinez bottled the chance of going there. I think the job would have been far too big for him and he knew it.
