This guy is covered in star dust. He is going to be a hell of a player and with Arsenal's decline I think they would consider a serious bid for him.

Great talent but we should have been in for him when Southampton were selling him, we were linked with him and didn't make our interest concrete. Maybe look at Redmond now instead for a young domestic winger, sometimes these kids are better at 18-21 than they are after as they seem bolder. Like Johnson and Walcott both used to be better than they are now.

AOC's hattrick for England U21 against I think it was Iceland U21 not long ago was brilliant, he is one of the best talents this country has produced in years, hopefully he doesn't go wayward like Walcott.

Arsenal are going back to Southampton now for Luke Shaw who it's said will be a world class left-back in the future, what an academy they have at Southampton (Bale too).

why the fuck wenger substituted him i will never know we could have gotten 5 points clear of united.Anyway i knew this thread would be up after seeing his performance and i agree with the people on here he is going to be a big star but a move to city could hamper his development and wenger is the best coach in my opinion in developing young talent.

He looks like he has a bit of fire in his belly and strength unlike Walcott, Lennon, Johnson and Downing. Good balance. Like him

Great player, he has the brain as well as the end-product that Walcott lacks.

Someone questioned how Walcott was starting games before him.. I would be more concerned about Arshavin being ahead of me in the pecking order!

He had an excellent game and couldn't understand why Wenger took him off nor could VP.

Think he would be a great addition to our squad

I don't normally buy into the 'we've got the best young, potential...blah blah blah' Arsenal bullshit. BUT I watched that game earlier and I think the Tarquins have got themselves a player!!

I think he is going to be fantastic, he has pace, hunger, ability but most importantly he's got football intelligence. Just watching him you can see the potential and he's already better than Walcott IMO. He did some Ronaldoesque stepovers.

Someone said the reason Wenger is not playing him for a full 90mins is because his fee is based on the number of full appearances for Arsenal, so it's probably Wenger penny pinching again. Or it could be that Wenger doesn't want him to be hyped up like Walcott was. Capello has mentioned taking him for the Euros and I don't think Wenger wants that to happen.

Anyway no doubt he'll become a great player and then Arsenal can do what they always do and cash in. Souness summed them up on Sky, he said, 'Arsenal are now a feeder club for the other richer clubs'. Too true.

The amazing thing with Chamberlain is that he is the exact same age like certain thug henry Winter describes as Englands biggest talent......Ravel Morrison. This is what a wonderkid is supposed to look like. His first start in the PL as well.

Southampton has another huge talent Arsenal seems to want. Luke Shaw who is seen as the new Bale. Get him now before we talk about him the same way.

Im gonna defend Wenger here. its clear he wants to hold this guy back after the Walcott fiasco. Remember 16 year old going to world cup without having any senior game. But at the same time you just cant hold back a talent like this.

Also this is the best thing that could happen to Arsenal in a way. With the way he played, with Arshavin coming in and being the rubbish he was. I think its today Wenger got realised he simply cant play this game with the kid anymore and he will be a starter now

Southampton have some youth academy. They'd have a class team if they could have afforded not to sell all their best talent.

Arsenal haven't got Shaw yet but the rags have entered the fold now. :/ Hope they don't get him.

Shaw is just one of several great new hopes at Southampton it's said, they are producing extremely promising young British players regularly now.

Bloody hell intheknow! i never thought of that reason (full match appearances).

The sad thing is i can beleive it, Wenger would chop his head of to spite his life. I'm not buying the official lline he was ill midweek and Wenger wanted to see he was ok.

The guy was moving fine, showed no sign of fatigue or anything else a manager would deem reason enough to bring a player of.

Anyone know what the full fee the gunners will need to pay ?

Twice the player Walcott is.

That's being a bit bloody generous. Walcott is shite. Amazing this lad is only 18.

I don't think Walcott is shite, he just does'nt put his game together well, the other week at home i saw him as possibly the quickest player i've ever seen "without the ball" i was shocked at his pace, he also has the odd trick and on his day he's a superb finisher! If he could put it all together he'd be fantastic. Another Wenger cock up, wants him to play the arsenal way, when he'd be so much better playing his own game! IMO

like i said before, he got scared when capello said few months ago he has a chance for the euros after 2 games for arsenal. he is holding him back. in a way i can see where he is coming from. 18 year old with his first pl start today shouldnt be talked about as saviour for the national team. its just too much too soon

what is his own game? walcott is the quickest footballer in the world, yet he struggles to beat a fullback, how is that even possible. the problem with Theo is that he is not a football fan, he sees football as a job. He's a posh kid who has other interest in life. hence why he hasnt added anything to his game.

Look at bale. he always tries to add more to his game, he tries new things. Today I saw him get the ball and do the okocha and get past his man. Shows you what he is working on and trying to do. No player angers me more than Theo. He is the quickest footballer in the world and should be nightmare to play against if he could add few moves to his game and learn how to create space
